There are many different forms of AFT licenses, including:
- Single-User (Standalone)
- Multi-User (Network)
- eLicense
- USB Key

Single-User (Standalone)
A standalone license will only run on whichever computer it is activated on. It will not work in virtual environments or on machines with virtual processes.
Multi-User (Network)
If a network license is purchased, the software license can be shared among multiple users. Will work in virtual environments or machines with virtual processes.
eLicense
The eLicense is cloud-based licensing that tracks active and non-active license use. Companies have the ability to manage security and internet access.
USB Key
Requires additional drivers and copy protection. The USB Key physically contains licenses for AFT products. If lost, the license will have to be repurchased.
